Wood Skin Ink The Japanese Aesthetic in Modern Tattooing

The Wood Skin Ink full color catalog is available on line at Smart Art Press.

HuiPress Print Studio is located in the old carriage house on the upcountry Makawao estate of Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center. Fully equipped for etching, Lithography, photogravure, woodcut, and silkscreen, the studio is open daily for fee-based community use and also supports an array of educational activities, including Tuesday night Open Studio from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

On an ongoing basis, we also offer University Internships to qualified printmaking students.  It is an excellent way to learn about intaglio and relief printmaking while working alongside master printers and visiting artists.  Please email for more information

  • Contract printing services
  • Photogravure services

New! Steel facing service for copper plates is now available. The cost is twenty-five cents per square inch; minimum of $25 per plate.  (for example, a 20x20 plate would cost $100), maximum of $100 per plate.  Maximum plate size is 24 x 30 inches.  Surcharge may apply for plates which need special cleaning or steel removal. Shipping and handling is extra.
